With lockdown restrictions easing across the UK, many of us are already starting to plan our much-needed reunions with family and friends. Whether you've been on top of your beauty routine or maybe let it slip a little while being stuck at home, now's the time to spring clean your skincare! We've put together our top five tips for gorgeous, glowing skin:

 

Always use SPF

We've said it before and we'll say it again, always use a daily SPF with broad spectrum protection! Sun damage is responsible for premature skin ageing, leading to things like fine lines, wrinkles and age spots appearing long before you're meant to have them! When choosing a moisturiser, always look for one ideally with a minimum SPF of 15 or above. If you've got particularly pale skin or are prone to burning, you might want to reach straight for SPF50.


Another very important thing to remember is to reapply your sunscreen throughout the day. While you're out enjoying the heat, the sun actually breaks down the protective SPF that you're wearing. It can be tricky to reapply if you've got other products on such as foundation or blusher, but there's plenty of ways to get around it! Try dabbing on your sunscreen with a beauty blender to carefully place it without wiping off your makeup.

Use a light moisturiser on warm days

 

We switch up our wardrobe when the temperatures soar, so why not do the same for your skincare routine? These types of moisturisers create a protective barrier on the skin, which can actually prevent sweat from getting out of your pores on hot days. Take care when using chemical exfoliants
